The European Society of Intensive Care Medicine is delighted to welcome you to LIVES 2014, the 27th Annual Congress of the Society, which will be held on September 27 - October 1, 2014.

More than ever, ESICM is a society at the cutting edge of scientific research. Our slogan, “The Intensive Connection” symbolises our commitment to connect our members with research, education, industry and one another—across the globe. We know that the more we connect the field, the stronger we will be. LIVES 2014 will deliver on this objective by updating clinicians, nursing staff, and allied health professionals on the most recent and relevant advances pertaining to critical care and emergency medicine and by offering a host of new opportunities for all involved to make those important connections.

This Congress will be one of the major intensive care meetings in 2014 with planned parallel sessions including over 500 lectures, presentations, debates, round table discussions, tutorials and interactive educational sessions. A top-ranked faculty of invited speakers who are all well-known international experts in their field will participate by presenting and chairing sessions.
