UK-based Crowdhelix partnered with Science|Business media company to launch a free online match-making service for COVID-19 researchers. It is advised by Dr Björn Kull, Head of Grants Office at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, and supported by KU Leuven university in Belgium.
Among the topics involved are virology, epidemiology, social sciences and
humanities, behavioural science, and data science.
The platform’s functionality includes individual, collective and
organisational profiling and posting opportunities for collaboration, which
then are matched with the most suitable prospective collaborators by an
intelligent recommender system.
There is also a list of funding
opportunities compiled by Science|Business.
Another source of information on funding of the COVID-19 research is offered
by an open science platform Frontiers, which has launched the Coronavirus
Funding Monitor. The portal offers a curated list of open funding calls and
other resources for researchers, non-profit and commercial organisations,
specifically for COVID-19 and coronavirus-related research and treatment. It provides
an overview of the funding conditions, such as eligibility, field types,
funding types, and deadlines.
