To look on innovation is a part of leadership, to judge the value of innovation requires comprehensive skills and to implement innovation is a challenge. Hospital pharmacists must be part of it and I am sure that after the congress you will have received much inspiration for your daily work.
“We are responsible for what will happen in the future”, Karl Raimund Popper said and J.A. Schumpeter added, “Innovation is creative destroying”. We have to abandon some sloppy tradition to move on and let the future happen, but we have also to do it with sensible and well weighted action. Working together with other professionals and our colleagues in primary care is paramount in achieving that goal. We can really only innovate by understanding the different perspectives of other professions and the needs of our patients.
